Born in Coimbra, 1976.
His early years were spent as a pixel artist for computer games and a cartoonist for local newspapers, while studying for an M.Arch, University of Coimbra (2000).
He was guided by brilliant minds such as Fernando Távora, Raul Hestnes Ferreira, and Gonçalo Byrne, among others. João Mendes Ribeiro mentored his master's thesis on light and space, leaving a structural influence on his formative years.
In 1999, he traveled to India in the precious company of Paulo Varela Gomes, Walter Rossa, and friends, the first of many returns to the Indian subcontinent, one that nurtured a lasting admiration for the work of Charles Correa and Geoffrey Bawa.
He cofounded Black Box, a CGI studio based in Barcelona and Coimbra, focusing on architecture and design clients, and producing marketing collateral for several high-profile hospitality and industrial design brands. During the late 2000s and early 2010s, his studio work was split by frequent travels through Southeast Asia dedicated to extensive photography, before settling in Hong Kong.
In 2016, he returned to Portugal, where he spent the following years planning and developing a personal country estate on the Alentejo coast, returning his focus to architecture and landscape design.
He has since adopted AI in his creative process, pursuing experiments across architecture, photography, and design, rooted in a constant observation of light, space, and the search for meaning.
